Acute Nursing


The acute nursing department at Mitchell County Hospital Health Systems includes four separate units; Acute, Emergency/Outpatient Department, Intensive Care Unit and Surgery. Services provided in these areas include specialized care for post-surgical and orthopedic rehabilitation patients, medical patients, cardiac / telemetry patients, and infectious patients. Swing bed provides care for patients, who no longer need acute hospital services, but require specialized rehabilitative or restorative services for their complex medical problems.

Our professional staff includes registered nurses, licensed practical nurses, nurse aides and unit secretaries. All registered nurses are certified in Advanced Cardiac Life Support.

Medical-Surgical Wing

Our Medical Surgical Wing provides spacious, private rooms, bathrooms and individual room temperature control.

Observation Unit

The 4 bed unit provides 2 semi private rooms for those patients requiring a short stay of 24 - 48 hours or until a definite diagnosis and plan of treatment is determined.
